It all started here. Cokin Chapalita is the origin of one of the most beloved restaurant design brands in Mexico. Its founder told us that when he was a child, his grandfather had a seafood restaurant. From those visits came dishes, memories, and a love for seafood cuisine that now lives on in every location.
The concept was clear from day one: create a space full of happiness — in the most honest sense. So that whoever arrived would feel relaxed, alive, uplifted, like that feeling of sitting down to eat in a palapa by the sea: simple seafood cooking, lots of color, and a vibe that can’t be faked.
The project started from a house in Colonia Chapalita, completely transformed. Every picture on the walls was designed by the studio. The success was so resounding that the space was expanded to twice its original size. Chapalita is proof that when design comes from a real story, the business naturally follows.
The wall pieces are not decorative purchases: they were designed piece by piece by the studio to tell the story of the founder and the sea. It’s the difference between a designed space and a decorated one. And it’s why no other seafood restaurant in Guadalajara looks like Cokin Chapalita — because the only one who can tell that story is him.
